Fred C. Amora is a 2-time Awardee for Media Excellence on News Reporting accorded to him by the Bohol Tri-Media Association (BTMA) in 2006 and from the Association of Writers and Radio Announcers, Foundation, Inc. (AWRAFI) in 2007.

His skill was recognized by the Southeast Asia Center for E-Media (SEACEM) when he was invited to the “New Generation E-Media Forum” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last June 10-3, 2008.

He is also an accredited radio broadcaster topping the Radio Code of the Philippines Exams conducted by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkasters ng Pilipinas (KBP) in November 2004.

A product of the Divine Word Mission Seminary (SVD), he considers his work in the media as his “second calling” to spread righteousness, justice and equity for all mankind as embedded in the Christian values of the proud Filipino race.
He also holds an honorary degree on Religious Humanities from the Universal Life College (ULC) of Modesto, California, USA.

Fred C. Amora spent 18 years in the city jungle of Caloocan City, where he raised a family and sired five children. He worked with the now defunct Kanlaon Broadcasting System (KBS 9) as researcher and segment production staff, longer particularly with the long-running “Mr. Public Service” TV show of the late Tony Santos, Sr.
An opening for a technical staff at Al Qhatani Pepsi-Cola plant in Khamis Mushayt, Abha, Saudi Arabia in 1987 drastically changed his life. The opportunity made him leave his country with a heavy heart but which, by circumstances, allowed him to bring back his family to his parents in Bohol.

Returning after many years in the arid Arab lands, he vowed to stay in Bohol and spend his remaining fruitful years in the service of his fellow Boholanos.

He was the Information officer of LGU Guindulman in 1994-97, ran as Municipal Mayor in 2001 then Media Affairs Consultant of Capitol in 2002-2004.

Amora is an elected BTMA Vice President for Print (2007-2008) and also incumbent Vice President of an independent media group Bohol Media Workers (BMW) Assn., Inc.

He is presently the Associate Editor of the English weekly newspaper the Bohol Standard published in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
